Did you know that the Sanon hut served as a base of the Air Rescue from 1987 to 2002?
Raffael Kostner, who has served as head of the mountain rescue service for many years, managed to install a helicopter base at the Sanon Hut in 1987. Here, where he lived and still lives among meadows and mountains, he founded an emergency center.
Soon, this position had proven to be very strategical for rescuing operations, which was even recognised by the ORGAKOM report. Raffael did everything possible to equip his crew optimally. He not only provided a medical depot and the facility for fuel supply, but also welcomed the crew in his guest cottage, which sometimes served as accommodation.
